INTERSTATE MOVE

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SCAM COMPANY!!!

WHY AFTER ALL THESE COMPLAINTS ABOUT BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE THEY NOT SHUT DOWN???

Hired them to move interstate. Was contacted by agent Howard and he talked Non-Stop about how great he was and what a perfectionist he was for 1/2 half hour, not allowing for any questions, (RED FLAG) until I Had to Stop him and asked him a series of questions which he followed up with vague answers.

He said he would do an "over the phone assessment "REDFLAG" and send a quote and contract by email. Insisted on being paid by check for down payment, which we did for 2680.00 on Wed afternoon.

After they immediately cashed the check, he said he needed to do a video assessment (based in Fl. and no agent to do in person assessment)...RED FLAG!

He said he would have to set up a "face time" call with a "Technician" so had to wait til next day..... RED FLAG..who needs a technician to set up face time?? He never called...was trying to make the clock run out....I called him on Friday and he said sorry...I was so busy...I can do in 1/2 hour. He asked for 2nd check payment of 2402.00 which we sent....

He then did a video assessment on Friday...then came back with estimate 4000.00+ more for over 10,000. I told him that it was unreasonable as we sold most of our furniture and had only 2+ rooms and household items.

We decided to cancel the service and hire a different mover.

We cancelled according to the contract well within 3 BUSINESS DAYS AND SENT A CANCELLLATION EMAIL PER CONTRACT. We followed up via phone call to be sure they received the email cancellation and request immediate refund of 5082.00! Of course Howard was not answering calls or emails. The main number stated....NO...YOU ONLY HAVE 3 DAYS TO CANCEL...NOT 3 BUSINESS DAYS WHICH IS WRITTEN IN BOLD IN THE CONTRACT. We quickly called the bank and were able to cancel 2nd check. They refuse to refund the 2680.00 and said you can use it with them within a 12 month period!

Filed complaints with AG'S IN 2 STATES AND WILL NOT STOP UNTIL WE RECEIVE OUR REFUND!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! SCAM ALERT!!! FRAUD ALERT!!!!!!

Great Job, well done!

I will definitely be a repeat customer. Reliable, on time as promised, great teamwork, outstanding crew and provides competitive pricing. Really focus on what customers need and require. Helped make this move a pleasant stress less experience. The crew have mastered the art of moving, A+ for reliability, dependably. I was extremely satisfied with the outcome and it set the tone for a great new start, moving to a new town! Great job, well done.

Long-distance move from Plainfield, IN to Orem, UT

Run the other way!

Booked our move thru Trinity 3 weeks ago. We were told another family from our area were moving to the same state and that our stuff would be loaded on a 53 ft moving truck by 8-15/8-16. We were told we would receive a call a week prior to our move date, and a day before pick up. That never happened. Today (moving day) 2 young guys showed up in Uhaul moving trucks at 6 pm! Not going to write about our conversation with them. But we went ahead and sent them on their way. Absolutely worst experience ever. DO NOT USE THESE CON ARTISTS!

Ms. Miller, as per our previous discussions we apologize for not providing the service you expected. I have reached out to you multiple times to attempt to come to a reasonable resolution. You have declined our offers. In response to your complaint above you have some of the facts are missing. We did not guarantee a 53' truck would show up to do your move. You were told that we had other clients on your route that we believed (a month prior to your move date) we could put your items on that truck and therefore we provided you substantial discounts based on that route. The other clients ended up filling that truck so it was unavailable to move you..which happens. So, we sent a smaller truck which was more than big enough to move the amount of items you told us that you had to move. We said we would call you approximately a week before your first move date, which we did..We contacted you 4 days prior to your first move date to do your Quality Assurance call where you adjusted your inventory because it was larger. We booked and sent a vetted federally licensed moving Carrier to your home to do the move. You had issues with the persons who showed up and you chose to send them away. Had you spoken with us prior to sending them away we may have been able to resolve the issues with you at that time. Either way it was your choice to work with them or not. We are very sorry this went this way. We have discussed this with the Carrier and they said they had newer employees doing the job but that they were competent and do a good job. We have had no more issues with these employees doing our clients moves. We have been working with that Carrier for quite a while and they are excellent. We worked diligently to get everything set-up and to get the truck to your location as agreed. We understand you are upset..which is why made a cash offer to resolve this with you. You rejected it. We wish you the best in the future!

Long-distance move from Lake Placid, NY to North Bend, WA

Do not trust.

I have recently just moved from Lake Placid New York to North Bend Washington. I had contacted Trinity as the broker and was assigned affordable movers. The estimate that I had gotten from Trinity and the actual bill I received was over $2000 more. I have mostly antiques that I move cross country and I stated that I needed them packed carefully and well, and almost everything was broken, scratched, and packed in the truck so tightly that I believe some of the damage was done in trying to even get it out. I had asked for notice of when they may be arriving in Washington, as I needed to make arrangements and I got a call less than 24 hours of the arrival. The first thing the driver asked me for was payment, which threw me off as I wanted to go through and make sure all of my items were Actually accounted for. He stated I had to give him the money before they unloaded, and that I had up to three months to file a claim for any damages. They stated everything was unloaded and when I did a visual estimate of my items I noticed my antique highboy, which is a very large wooden 10 drawer chest was missing. I have no idea if some of my boxes are missing as they never went through any of the inventory list, And when I insisted that my Hyde boy was not there they did find it in the truck. I would never use Trinity, or this moving company that is not Always Affordable.

Ms. Declerque, We are sorry that you are not happy with your move. We work hard on your behalf to make everything go as you request but sometimes that does not happen exactly. Most of the time we are very close. When we did your Quality Assurance call 5 days before your move we explained that they would be arriving during the 2 day pick-up window and that you should leave yourself as much flexibility as possible during that timeframe. We also told you that the driver would call approximately 24 hours prior to arriving depending on their routes and previous moves. This all happened as we discussed…maybe not perfect in your eyes but as we described you should expect. We very specifically discussed with you (numerous times) that half of the remaining cost would be paid to the driver prior to the driver starting to do the move and the remainder to be paid upon arrival prior to items being offloaded for delivery. You agreed with that so it should not have been a surprise. Your Binding Estimate guaranteed that the rate you paid would not change and we estimated the size of your move, twice. During those estimations we specifically asked if there were any other items you were going to move and you said there were not. We then discussed with you to let us know if there were more items so that we could get your quote accurate so there would be no surprises. When our Carrier loaded the truck, you had more items than were estimated on your inventory. This happens, but the good news was that you were only charged the Discounted Rate on your Binding Estimate for the additional items. We reviewed all of the charges and they were done properly and you were not overcharged. We recommended you purchasing full coverage insurance prior to your move because things can get damaged when being moved. We then worked with you to file your insurance claim. Many things went right on your move and we sincerely apologize for the challenges you faced. We did our best to resolve your issues. Wishing you the best in the future!!

Long-distance move from Poughkeepsie, NY to Billings, MT

LIARS and THIEVES

1)TRINITY VAN LINES waited until the van was loaded with everything I own to DOUBLE the cost from $3500 to $7000. I was given a lot of inane reasons/excuses for this ranging from furniture counts as “x” number of boxes, to “we used a lot of tape.” I did not estimate the number of boxes and furniture, I COUNTED the number of boxes and furniture. Based on that count, TRINITY increased my cost by $695.00 prior to the move, WHICH I PAID—we are now at $7,695!

TRINITY was more than one week late with delivery. I called them, and they said, “your truck does not appear on our GPS. We will find it.”. My truck arrived after that.

3) TRINITY sent ONE GUY to unload all of my stuff. It took THREE to load it. The result was that he had to use a hand truck for everything and placed EVERYTHING, including antique furniture and belongings ON ITS SIDE OR UPSIDE DOWN! This resulted in damage to all large furniture.

4) EVERYTHING was damaged. Everything. Every single box was placed upside down, regardless of THIS SIDE UP or FRAGILE labeling. All boxes, and I mean ALL, are crushed and sloppily stacked. See pictures.

5) I had dozens of unused moving supplies: unopened boxes, tape, packing paper, and bubble wrap—all are missing—lost or stolen. Two cherrywood bookcases are lost or stolen.

So, not surprisingly, I am not just unhappy with TRINITY VAN LINES, I am angry.

When I contacted them, they said,

“We will not refund anything ever. File a claim.”

Long-distance move from Dallas, TX to Los Angeles, CA

Great Customer Service.

I move frequently for work, 4 times in the last 6 years. I have used a new moving company each time mostly because I have never had that great of a move that I really wanted to use the same mover twice. I’ve been through it all; lost items, damaged furniture, movers that don’t show up or deliver on time. That said my expectations were low for my most recent move from Dallas to L.A. When I spoke with my Sales Consultant , Brandon, I was refreshingly surprised that he was super professional, knowledgeable and actually addressed and helped me solve some of the problems I had experienced in the past without me even mentioning that I had had problems with other moves. Brandon suggested that I add additional cubic footage to my quote just to insure I didn’t have any surprise charges on the day of my move. That was really important to me because I didn’t want to go over my allotted moving stipend. As my move approached I called him again to adjust my quote because I realized I had acquired more appliances since I last moved. He was quick to respond with an updated quote. On the day of my move the crew arrived on time. Dominic and his crew were kind and professional . They disassembled and packed up a few of my remaining large items and got everything loaded up quickly. Ten days later all of my boxes and furniture arrived in L.A and the crew arrived within the window of time and moved everything in and assembled my large items. A few of my boxes were squished but overall my things looked like they were packed well and made it without incident. As someone with a less than stellar moving history , I was relieved and grateful that this move went smoothly. I felt like Brandon helped be avoid a lot of the pit falls . Ill defiantly be calling Brandon again for my next move ! Thanks !

Moving sham.

Once you received my deposit you farmed me out to Executive Moving and Storage. A horrible company. You would not take my calls, text or emails. They finally arrived yesterday and refused to place my belongings in the house. Dumped them in the garage with below freezing temperatures. This even after I explained due to health I am unable to move any boxes into the house. Surprise last minute cost and undocumented illegals. I will be reaching out to the DOT on both of your firms with the help of legal counsel.

Long-distance move from Sterling, VA to Helena, MT

Move.

I have never written a bad review until now. While searching moving companies I was contacted by Stephen from Trinity, I explained to him that I had moved 5 times in the last 6 years and needed a mover to move me from VA to MT. I had 2 other estimates between $8000 and $10,000. I explained to Stephen I fill the largest Box truck you can rent (2400 sq feet) Stephen gave me an estimate of $6900 with a senior discount of $1200. I asked how he could be so much lower than everyone and asked about hidden fees. He said because I was planning the move in the off season he could give me the great deal. He indicated that it may be a few hundred over the estimate but not thousands. I signed a contract and paid the deposit. My total bill for the move was over $11000. Bethany the director of operations won't call me back to answer questions. Trinity contract my move out to All In One moving and they at least answer the phone but won't help with the $4500 difference in the final bill. I was willing to split the difference and pay an additional $2000 but All In One would not even consider the option. I was told I need the final payment of $3064 in cash for the driver upon delivery. Prior to the move I called Trinity every day for over a week, no answer, then I called every hour and left messages it took 6 hours until someone picked up the phone to tell me what day they would show up to load the truck. I now have the delivery scheduled that took the same process called everyday for 4 days then every hour until Bethany picked up the phone and said "call All In One" again no help. I was looking for a moving partner and I got a moving nightmare. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. It has been so tiresome that I have contacted a lawyer to see what can be done.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $11733

Official company response

After speaking with the driver for this job , it is clear that this move simply went up in size and the paperwork indicates the client was charged accordingly of the increase of items she wanted to have moved . The client moved 175 items and the inventory that was submitted to Trinity Van Lines by Ms. Williams included only 117 items. Additional items incur additional cost. This cost is calculated by the number of cubic feet that the items occupy , as shown on the bill of lading /re-estimation . Ms. Williams decided to add more items and this caused an increase in her cost.
She never disclosed the additional 58 items that she wanted to move.

(Previous reply)
Bonnie, An investigation has been opened on your move. We are awaiting the bill of lading to see precisely what any additional charges were for, and will determine exactly what happened. I have pulled the tape of the original booking to hear precisely what was said.
Thank you for your patience and I assure you, together, we will get to the answer.
thank you.

Long-distance move from Beaverton, OR to Palm Beach, FL

My Move from OR to FL.

So, to be honest, after my move was completed, I just needed a copy of my deposit receipt.

I called and talked to Bethany. She asked how the move went, and what my impression was.

I shared that the timeliness of the movers arrival was great. Pick up went very well, Dimitri and his crew did a great job dis-assembling and wrapping everything up in blankets. When I did the quality assurance walkthrough, we added and subtracted some items, but there was virtually no change to my estimate.

After Dimitri did the walkthrough, he told me that we were right on. They did have an upcharge of $250 more for packing a China Cabinet and a couple TV Stands that have glass shelves and doors. I did not appreciate the additional charge, but the items they packed made the move without a scratch!

A 20 gallon fish tank broke, a few plates, couple of glasses… Short of that, the move went very smoothly.

Matt was on the stick! Thank you Matt.
Thanks for all your help guys.

Run Away as Fast as You Can.

This group of folks are not the folks you would want moving your articles. They are not movers. They are brokers who farm your job out to any company and charges you. This can be done by a few phone calls to any local guys willing to do a long distance move. They are totally hands off after the sell your job.Bethany will call you a million times before and avoid you after the sell off your business. They quoted me one price and when they sold my bid (Which they never told me) the new company Household Hauling (Even worse than Trinity)quoted and demanded 700 more on a Sunday.I definitely would not recommend using them.I definitely would not recommend using them. I definitely would not recommend using them, I definitely would not recommend using them. I definitely would not recommend using them.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3700

Official company response

Mr.Cowling, We are sorry that your move did not go as you expected. It is our intent and we work very hard to make sure each move exceeds our customers expectation. We do not just “farm out jobs” and you cannot replicate our service by making a few phone calls to a local mover. We provide hundreds of moves to and continually vette and work with all of our Carriers. Therefore, they rely on our clients to successfully run their business which gives us the ability to advocate and negotiate for you to make certain you are treated well and are not taken advantage of. If they do not do as we ask, we do not send them Moves….so they listen to us and do what we ask. I listened to all of the many, many phone calls between you and us both before and after your move. Prior to your move, we clearly described to you that we are a broker and the benefits of working with us, you agreed and wanted to move with us. We do not “sell your bid” – there is no bid…only a Binding Estimate (defined by Federal Guidelines), which binds a rate for the move and estimates your inventory size, which we did with you 4 times and you signed that it was accurate, twice. For you, we bound a substantially discounted rate which saved you thousands of dollars. We then assigned a Federally Licensed Moving Carrier that we have done hundreds of moves with to do your move. Because of our relationship, we know they are a good carrier and we know you are treated appropriately. Even with all that work, when our Carrier got onsite there were numerous items to move that you did not include in your inventory, also your plastic bins were not small as described but were actually large. This happens, but these undisclosed items and misstated sizes caused the size of your move to increase which increased your price, at the bound Discounted Rate. The good news is that you only paid for the items you actually moved and you were NOT overcharged. There were many parts of your move that went very well including your goods being delivered quickly and in good shape. Again, we are sorry that it did not go exactly as you wished. Perfect for everyone…we have not achieved…but working hard for every client and continually getting better we do achieve! If you wish to contact us to further discuss this, please call our Customer Service Department. We wish you the best!

Expect complete abandonment.

I hired trinity based on long phone conversation highlighting quality service and follow-through. I was blatently lied to by multiple members of the staff and when I repeatedly brought up concerns, instead of addressing them, multiple members of this company ignored repeated phone calls, messages, and pleas for help. If you hear the name Brandon, Rob, or Bethany, run away. Hang up the phone. These people are scum only interested in your money. Freaking losers. I had a 2 person crew show up to move a 4 bedroom house and spent the day moving myself. I even had to call a friend to come and help this "professional moving crew" get items into the rented uhaul they had. Buyer beware!! These scum prey on people and pimp them off to incompetent movers.

Long-distance move from Florida to Indiana

Excellent Customer Experiences!

Trinity and Jay has made this hard move much easier. We learned last week that my husband’s job with moving him to Indiana from Fort Lauderdale and needless to say this has been stressful. I tried to get quotes from other moving companies online but all I received was vague offers and no phone calls back I then went on to Facebook and ask my friends and family for recommendations I was recommended to this company Trinity my friend has used them before. I reached out to the company on a Saturday night and how surprised I was when I got a phone call from Jay at mediately walking me through the process of asking me very specific questions and explaining every detail along the way. I had tons of questions and Jay stayed on the phone making sure he didn’t hang up until I was comfortable. Within just a few minutes of a phone calling him reaching out to other people he was able to secure me a professional written quote to give to my husbands boss. The price was great!
This process is nerve racking but he has made it easier. I did read the other reviews but am not worried as I’m sure some are quick to complain rather than to compliment. I will update this as I make this transition.

My move from NJ to Florida.

I have always been a do it yourself kind of guy but when it came time to move my mother from NJ to Sunny Isles Florida I knew I was going to need some help. I went online to search for a reputable moving company and filled out a few online requests for quotes and I received over 30 calls and I am not exaggerating over 30 phone calls. Jay from Trinity Van Lines was the only person to leave me a voice message so I decided to call him back. We discussed my issues that I knew were unavoidable, my mother lives an an 8 bedroom house in northern NJ that she wanted to move into the home we purchased for her in Sunny Isles that was only one bedroom. Part of the issue was convincing my mother to sell a lot of the furniture items that have been in our family for quite some time. Long story short we managed to whittle down a move that would have required 2 18 wheel trucks to one 26 foot truck. The move went very smooth, a few boxes were dented and crushed but in the grand scheme of things not a big deal. I highly recommend Trinity Van Lines, I was pleasantly surprised. They did everything that they said that they were going to do.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Best in the business!

They say that two of the most stressful things in life are divorce and moving, and unfortunately, I was dealing with both at the same time. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT TRINITY! When my life changed drastically and I had to move myself and my two children from our home in New Jersey down to South Florida where my family lived, I was totally overwhelmed. I didn't have the time nor the concentration to shop around with so much else on my plate. Luckily, a dear friend who'd recently been through a similar situation spoke so highly of Trinity that I immediately reached out to them. From the moment I spoke to Jay, I knew I was in the best possible hands. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative, and I could instantly tell he "knew his stuff". But also, he was so patient, understanding and comforting during a time in my life when I needed it most. You often hear horror stories about moving, but based on the positive recommendation from a trusted friend, combined with so many high reviews submitted by others, my instincts told me I made a great decision to go with Trinity.. and I was right! There was no nonsense and no hassle when it came to pricing, and no need to look any further. Jay was honest and fair, and from beginning to end there were no unwanted or unpleasant surprises whatsoever. As a detail-oriented person, I was blown away by how thorough Jay was. In my experience as an interior design professional, I've obtained a number of important pieces of furniture and art, some of which are not only sentimental but also quite valuable. He assured me I had nothing to fear, and sure enough, every part of the process went smoothly and perfectly. Still, whenever I had a question or concern, Jay was right there on the other end of the line. I will never use anyone else besides Trinity again. Additionally, I feel 100 % comfortable referring my clients, many of whom are high net-worth individuals that expect nothing but the best, to Trinity for their moving needs. I'd just like to add that if you happen to read a negative review about this company, it was likely written by one of those people who is impossible to please, no matter what you do to try make them happy. Don't believe a word of it! Trinity is by far THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS.

Not a real company - terrible / non-existent customer service. F-.

Do not trust Trinity Van Lines, Inc. They are a broker-not a moving company. We paid for someone to book random movers, who hired random people the day of the move, which was a day late, and did not provide the services we paid for. Trinity did not answer any phone calls we tried to make during the four days the moving truck was being loaded, yes 4 days to load the truck. Our move ended up being very stressful, costly, and many of our items arrived broken.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2000

Official company response

Mrs. Faraone, We apologize that you were unhappy with your move. We have had many conversations with you in an attempt to set this up properly and then resolve your issues. We did contract a vetted Federally Licensed Moving Carrier (that has done hundreds of moves for our clients) who we sent to do your move. They had some newer employees who we agreed could have done a quicker job packing your items. We refunded you a substantial amount for that inconvenience. Our Carrier arrived to pack your move on June 26th. It was delivered on June 30th in North Carolina. Your move ended up taking 4 days from start (PA) to finish (NC) not 4 days to pack. Sometimes items are damaged or break during a move which is why we suggested you purchase insurance. You ended up paying the exact amount for your move that we quoted you in your Binding Estimate. You also agreed that you would state this review had been resolved upon receiving our payment….after we paid you, you chose not to do that. We continually communicated with you through the process, provided you a good, quick move and took financial responsibility for the carrier’s newer employees. We are monitoring this carrier and employees and they are not having the same issues you described with our other clients. We have acted in good faith and done everything we can to resolve your issues. We wish you the best in the future!

Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

The worst moving experience.

Trinity Van Lines use brokers and after selling your contract to another company, they don't want to communicate with you, they lie and won't help you at all. They sold our contract to Insync Movers, Inc, The most unprofessional moving company. They lost our new mattress of $500 and planning to pay us $50 for it. Lost some other items and broke some pieces of glass and china. They give you one quote and then they change it and you pay much more for a horrible service. The whole move was a nightmare. Do not trust or do business with this company or Insync Movers, Inc.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5582

Official company response

We are sorry that your move did not go as you expected. It is our goal to provide excellent service on every move. We provided you a Bound Rate per Cubic Foot of goods moved for the distance you moved which was discounted over 40% of the standard rate. That is exactly what you ended up paying for your move. You increased the amount of items that you moved over the amount that we estimated based on what you told us you were moving. We discussed your inventory multiple times with you and estimated it accurately based on what you told us. When our Carrier arrived…you had more items than you disclosed…those extra items were charged for at the Bound Discounted Rate that we provided you.
Sometimes items get lost or damaged during moves. It doesn’t happen very often (literally 1 or 2 moves out of hundreds) and when it does we have to use the insurance providers to resolve the issues. That is the reason for the standard Liability insurance on all moves and the reason we recommended that you purchase full coverage insurance. Standard Liability coverage works well in some situations and doesn’t in others like when you have new, expensive or sentimental items. We discussed with you that you should have considered Full Coverage insurance prior to your move which would have replaced any lost or damaged items. That is a personal decision that you made. If it were up to us, every client should purchase full coverage insurance to resolve any issues that may come up, but some clients, like you, do not want to pay insurance companies which we also understand. We have contacted the Insurance company and your claim has been paid. If you would like to discuss this further please contact our Customer Service Department at info@trinitymoving.net or call.

Local move within California

Run as fast as you can to another vendor.

I hired this company fro a long-distance move from San Bernardino County, Ca. to Baton Rouge La. From the very first conversation I advised Tyler -sales representative that I could not be available on a specific date and time for a full day, but had A.M. availability. Tyler agreed to two dates with A.M. pick-ups. I was then contacted tthe very next day to be advised that no A.M. pick was available on the scheduled days and therefore my pick-up would need t be changed. I agreed to a new pick-up day which has since came and gone and my items are still in my garage. After, realizing they sue 3rd party contractors for pick-ups I contacted the 3rd party vendor directly only to be advised that everything that I was told was not valid and that Trinity Van Lines has no access to their database and therefore could make no promises.Ultimately, I was lied to and given false information from the beginning in an effort to secure my contract and I am now left with dealing with the 3rd party vendor to arrange pick -up and my promised deadlines have exceeded 2 weeks. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY or else you will be disappointed.

Official company response

Ms. Eggough or Bowers or other
We are sorry that this move did not work out as you had planned. Our goal is to provide excellent service to our clients. We take it very seriously when a Customer accuses us of lying. We continually move people, trucks and customers goods all over the country and speak with thousands of clients every week to achieve our excellent service. The processes we use must be very specific to be as good as we are at servicing our client’s needs, which is why we provide continual ongoing training and certification processes for our staff to speak very specifically to our clients.
We have investigated your accusations thoroughly. We spoke to each person you spoke with at our company and our agents. We also listened to each recorded phone call and reviewed each agreement you signed with us. You were told and explained many times that you or your representative must be available and flexible during the 2-day pick-up window or your lack of availability may lead to delays in your pick-up. You stated you wanted to be picked up in the morning and we said we would try…but could not guarantee it. You heard that, agreed to the 2-day pick-up window and then signed multiple agreements that very clearly defined the pick-up window was 2 days. In subsequent conversations, you demanded a morning pick-up. We offered our Guaranteed Pick Up Service for a fee. You were not interested in paying for a Guaranteed pick up. Because our service staff are so focused on making you and all of our Customers happy, we attempted to service your customized needs. Your timeframes caused your move to be rescheduled twice (costing you time and us thousands of dollars in cost). Had you made yourself or your representative available during the 2 day window we would have been there and picked you up exactly as we agreed. The good news is that after working relentlessly to resolve your scheduling issues we did get you picked up and moved.
We did not lie to you or breach our agreement. Actually, we went above and beyond to provide you more service than we agreed to provide you. You signed an agreement stating that we had fulfilled our services to your satisfaction and that we had earned our fees. We are not going to charge you for the extra services we provided.
We are happy your move is complete. If we can provide you any more information or would like to discuss your move with us directly please contact our Customer Service Department. Again, we are sorry this move did not go as you expected! We did our best to service you and wish you the best in the future.

Long-distance move from Tucson, AZ to Haymarket, VA

Trinity Van Lines legally took $4450 from us

Trinity Van Lines legally took $4450 from us without even sending a moving truck to our home. Read that contract and read it well before you sign or send any money. Our original estimate had some inaccuracies that we did not catch. The original estimate was for $5880. The semi-final estimate was $8844.94. My wife, pregnant with our third child, didn't understand why the price increased so much, but she felt pressured into signing the contract without reading it and paid the deposit because "we added more stuff". This brought our total deposit to $4450 (interestingly this is over half of our final quote, before the guys even showed up with a truck!).

True we added more stuff, but the actual reason for the huge price jump was the original distance of our move was "estimated" as 1645 miles. The actual distance to where we are moving is 2247 miles (easily calculated on google maps). No wonder the price increased so much. Our cubic feet increased only from 1000 CF to 1123 CF. If we had known the semi-final estimate was going to be $8844.94 we would have chosen a different service. Too bad once that contract is signed you no longer get a refund, no matter what. Well, we cancelled the move with them because we didn't want to continue to support their business. Bye bye stimmy. At least now we are working with a company that feels far more trustworthy, U-Pack.

Don't trust anything said to you by word of mouth. They won't lie to you (actually they did lie to me, but that's ok because that's not in the contract...). But they won't tell you the whole truth. Read the contract or you might end up like us and pay Trinity Van Lines over $1,000 per hour for a moving estimate!

The one saving grace. If we move within the next year, then our deposit can be used for that move. Too bad I don't trust them to move my stuff. I felt profoundly peaceful after cancelling the job with them. Technically still waiting on confirmation of cancellation from "the Controller".

No where in the contract does it state that the contract cannot be published online, so here is ours for your benefit.

All of those numbers look pretty complicated, so I came up with an approximate equation that will tell you the cost of your move. This doesn't include additional fees that one may incur by inattentiveness to the contract.

Take your cubic feet and divide by 1000. Take the distance of your move and divide by 1645. Multiply these numbers together, and then multiply by $5880. Tada! Your second estimate is likely within 10% of the final estimate you would have received from Trinity Van Lines. If they make their initial quotes according to the same pattern as they did for us, you may be able to simply multiply your initial estimate by 1.5. Good luck, and happy moving!

DO NOT TRUST THEM

DO NOT USE TRINITY VAN LINES. Don't be fooled by other reviews (probably written by the company itself) that trinity van lines is mistaken for another company with a similar name.

I reserved an interstate move with Paul Lopez (Hi Paul, why are you still not answering my calls?). He promised that they will have all if my livelihood moved across the country within 10-14 business days. So I booked the truck, expecting to move into the new home in 10-14 days.

I signed a new lease and booked a flight to travel across the country, accordingly. On the 8th day, since they picked up all my stuff, I thought it was weird that they had not once contacted me about the exact time frame, so I decided to call the company only to find out all of my stuff never left storage. Now they are saying it may take up to 21 MORE DAYS ON TOP OF THE INITIALLY PROPOSED 10-14 DAYS.

That's a whole month, do you know how much time and money I am losing because of this?

I have been calling their office, the PAUL LOPEZ guy, and the movers every day but they just don't seem to care enough to pick up the phone. In fact, the movers picked up their phone once and hung up before I could even say hello. I called them again immediately and they just declined my call.

Not to mention the HIDDEN FEES they charge you after "you don't have to worry about additional charges, all of your stuff can be covered by this rate". I ended up being charged at least $200 additionally because they don't mention that there is an ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF $75/8 stairs AND $75/50ft.

They are still not answering my phones and as a result of giving this company the benefit of the doubt, I have lost a lot of time and money. In fact, I still am. PAUL LOPEZ, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, ANSWER MY PHONE CALLS.

TLDR: Ridiculous hidden fees. False proposed date of arrival. +21 days on top of the initially proposed date. Extremely unresponsive and unprofessional.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY.

Update: They read my review here and started yelling on the phone when I called them to inquire about the exact time frame of the moving process.

JAY CUMMINGS, YOU TOLD ME THE CALL LAWYER IF I CAN. I WILL. YOU ALSO THREATENED WHEN YOU MOCKINGLY SAID "I HOPE YOUR STUFF GETS THERE IN ONE PIECE".

Also, you told me your name was "CALL-A-LAWYER" when I asked for your name. Prepare yourself for a personal law suit on top of the one against your company. I hope your company values you as an employee lol

Don’t trust their estimates

I provided an exact list of everything I had to be moved. I was very honest about heavy items and bulky items. When the movers showed up they charged us almost $7000 more than the estimate. This would be bad enough however they showed up with a truck that was far too small. Despite charging us more than the estimate they actually shipped much less than was included on the list. Trinity did absolutely nothing to help me. I thought the point of dealing with them was that they would intercede but they have done nothing. I called them several times and spent hours on hold while the movers were still there to see if there was something that could be done such as a bigger truck or intercede with the ridiculous extra charge. They told me to write an email. I wrote an email but nobody in the past four weeks has responded to any of my calls as they said they would nor have they responded to any of my emails. Beyond that the mover has damaged or destroyed a large portion of my furniture and Crystal. They professionally packed the Crystal so they can’t even blame it on my poor packing skills. Some of my property showed up within two weeks more of it showed up at approximately four weeks but then there is still the portion of it that hasn’t shown up and appears to be lost. I can file a claim and get pennies on the dollar but that doesn’t really help financially or when it is something with sentimental value. Again Trinity will do absolutely nothing to intervene for me. They told me that I could write an email and CC them. That is not helping me that’s telling me what I can do.

Fraud, deception, theft of service

They need to be shut down. Attorney General should bring criminal charges. They ARE NOT MOVERS and their quotes are flat out lies. They provide NO useful service, they exist purely as a rip-off scam. Go to a legitimate mover, one that will show up in person and give you a real quote and has a Better Business Bureau rating of A+. Tried to raise rates, tried to force to sign agreement releasing them from everything, cancelled my move when I wouldn’t sign, stole over 4K down payment. Legitimate movers were 1/2 the price TLV quoted and then tried to raise.

Do not use this company!

If you’re smart, do not associate with this organization. They are a straight up “Bait and switch” company. My family and I had to find a quick moving company to move us from Virginia to Florida and after going over all of our items with the sales consultant, Zac Hammond, we were quoted a moving price of $10,100. I paid our security deposit of $3,300. Then got a phone call from their QA rep(StephenPrem) to do a “FaceTime” view of our household goods. From his “view”, he estimated additional sq. cubic feet to a total of 2,200. That increased our moving cost to $17,000. With that “visual” increased the security deposit another $4,000. 2 red flags that I should have stopped this move, but we were on crunch time to move. After repeated statements noting that we were closing on our house on 18 Oct, I was assured that we would be packed out prior to that date. I got a phone call on Oct 14th stating that the movers would not show up until the 17th. 3rd red flag was when I asked if everything would be packed and loaded in one day, and was told that it would. Received another phone call on the 16th from the moving foreman that they wouldn’t show up until 3:30p.m. on the 17th. Furious, I tried multiple times to reach Trinity Van Lines and Stephen Prem for answers, but got nothing. Movers didn’t show up until 4:30p.m. that Sunday. They outsourced to a company called All in One Moving and Storage out of New Jersey and sent only (2) non English speaking men to pack and load. The 2 idiots didn’t finish until 11:30p.m. on 18th Oct, to also state that they had to use extra boxes to load, which increased our cost to $23,000. Original delivery was suppose to be on 18th Oct, didn’t receive until 22nd Oct. When they arrived to our final destination, truck driver stated that he couldn’t get through gated community. Company charged an additional $1,700 to rent a U-Haul for 2 hrs to transport from truck to van. Now I’m in $25,000 paying for a s**t delivery, and going through my packed goods, I would have been better off hiring random people that are begging for employment. This company is a scam and will take you for everything you got. DON’T HIRE!!! In the end you’ll want to get yourself a good lawyer. I have to give a star, but this place doesn’t deserve one.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. We decided to not use this company after reading reviews online - now I see why. They are refusing to refund our $1000 deposit after cancellation. At first we were told the reason was because they've already spent that money on packaging materials - this is a lie, the contract states they do not purchase their own packaging materials. Then they told us we didn't cancel within the three day guaranteed window - this was also a lie, and I provided time stamps showing so. Finally, they told us our deposit is part of a non-refundable booking fee. After more research it appears they're using a loophole.. the only "refundable" portion of your money is the Binding Estimate Fee (which they mark as $0.01), the "non-refundable" portion of your money is literally everything else that you pay besides that one cent.

5 Star.

My experience with Northern Star Moving Systems was excellent. Their crew showed up on time and were very courteous, efficient and professional. They were done so fast I was still able to handle other business I thought I was going to have to put off. These guys don't play around! I know every experience is not the same but I'm glad mine was good.

Your company is going down! Fraud, thieves, liars and unprofessional.

I have contacted every single person who has written a bad review for them. Do not use them. They are the scum of all scum. We will see them in court!
- beware they act as if they are a different company (see review below) however, it’s them!
- they speak to nice calm people in rude and very aggressive tone. I was belittled, disrespected and lied to. They are great at covering their asses!
- they say they advocate for you - nope!! They are in cahoots with the moving companies and they steal money from you.
- the moving company they work with- they fabricated paperwork and filled in dues without consent and after forms had been signed.
- I could go on for days here!
- they showed up with one mover who had driven all night and we had to move the furniture ourselves!! If we wanted our items off the truck - we had no choice!!

Official company response

Ms. Pacheco, We are sorry that you are upset with the move we provided your parents. We spent many hours advocating, negotiating, resolving issues with your parents/brother and the Carrier. From our efforts we negotiated a substantial discount for them. We made certain that they only paid for what they had agreed to by their signature on the Bill of Lading even though other legitimate costs had arisen. You were not part of that discussion. You later called us and wanted to re-discuss everything that was already agreed to between us, the Carrier and our client. When we attempted to communicate what had already been agreed to you were not interested in listening. You are not our client, were not authorized to make decisions and didn’t seem to want to understand what was already discussed, agreed to and finished. Which left us at an impasse. We advised you on how to handle additional concerns while the foreman was on site, which you did. At this point, this move is complete, your parents paid what they agreed to pay. If there are other issues, please have your parents and or brother contact our Customer Service Department and we will address their concerns.
